Whole-Wheat Toaster Pastries

The filling

jam (preferably homemade or all-fruit spread)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a food processor, combine flour and salt, then pulse briefly.
- Fill a measuring cup with ½ cup of water and add ice cubes.
- Cut cold butter into ½ inch chunks and sprinkle over the flour mixture.
- Blend until the mixture resembles a crumbly meal, then add 1/3 cup of water gradually until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll it out to about ¼ inch thick.
- Cut the dough into 14 to 16 rectangles.
- Place half of the rectangles on the baking sheet, spoon jam onto the center, and top with the remaining rectangles.
- Seal the edges with a fork and make holes on top.
- Brush with egg wash and bake for 18 to 24 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool on a rack and store in the fridge or freezer.
