Instructions
- Cook the angel hair pasta in salted water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large sauté pan, cook the onion, garlic, Italian sausage, and ground beef over medium heat until browned, then drain excess liquids.
- Add the pasta sauce, basil, and crushed red pepper to the meat mixture and simmer for 15 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a bowl, whisk together the cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, romano cheese, and egg, then add the cream and mix until combined.
- Combine the cooked angel hair pasta with the meat sauce, ensuring all pasta is coated.
- In a medium oven-safe dish, layer half of the meat and pasta mixture, followed by half of the cheese mixture. Repeat with another layer of meat and pasta, and top with the remaining cheese mixture.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and bake for 25 minutes until edges are browned.
- Broil for 2-3 minutes until the mozzarella is bubbly and browned, then serve hot.
