Ingredients

Cranberry Chutney

  • 2 cups cranberries
  • cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup

Avocado Turkey Burgers

  • 2 lbs. ground turkey
  • 6 slices fontina cheese
  • 6 tablespoons spicy mayonnaise
  • 2 medium avocados
  • 1 ⅓ cups arugula
  • 6 pieces buns

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cranberry chutney by combining cranberries, orange juice, orange zest, and maple syrup in a saucepan. Boil for 5-7 minutes, then reduce heat and cook until cranberries burst, about 10 minutes. Cool in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (350°F-400°F).
  3. Form ground turkey into six 1/3 lb patties, season with salt and pepper, and grill for 4 minutes on each side. Add fontina cheese on top and allow to melt for 15 seconds.
  4. Toast the buns for 30 seconds to 1 minute per side.
  5. Assemble the burgers with the bottom bun, 1 tablespoon of spicy mayo, mashed avocado, turkey burger, cranberry chutney, and arugula.
