Ingredients

The donuts

  • ¼ cup coconut flour
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • ¼ cup coconut oil (melted) plus more for greasing pan
  • cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

The glaze

  • 2 tablespoons all-natural peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF and grease a donut pan with coconut oil.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the coconut flour, cacao powder, salt, baking soda, eggs, oil, maple syrup, and vanilla until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into a piping bag or a ziplock bag with a corner cut off, and pipe it into the donut wells.
  4. Bake the donuts for about 18 minutes until they rise and are firm to the touch.
  5. While the donuts bake, prepare the glaze by mixing peanut butter, cacao powder, and maple syrup in a small bowl, adding water to reach desired consistency.
  6. Allow the donuts to cool completely before removing them from the pan.
  7. Dip each donut into the glaze or spread it on top, and serve immediately.
