Instructions
- Whisk together the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- Grate the cold butter into the flour mixture and combine gently.
- Make a well in the center and add the egg and buttermilk mixture.
- Fold the mixture together until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
- Place the dough on a floured surface and form it into a ball.
- Dust the dough with flour and roll it out into a rectangle.
- Cut the dough into sections, stack, and press together, then roll out again.
- Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter.
- Chill the biscuits in the freezer for 10 minutes while preheating the oven.
- Bake the biscuits in a preheated oven at 425°F for 15-20 minutes.
