Homemade Mashed Potatoes

Instructions
- Peel and dice the potatoes, then place them in a pot and cover with cold water. Salt the water well.
- Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Boil the potatoes until tender, about 8 to 12 minutes, then drain them.
- Mash the potatoes in the pot using a fork or potato masher.
- Add butter and a splash of milk or cream, then mix in salt and pepper to taste. Adjust ingredients as needed.
