Ingredients

The jalapeños

  • 15 pieces jalapeño peppers

The filling

  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 6 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese

The topping

  • ¾ cup gluten-free panko-style bread crumbs
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon chili powder
  • teaspoon smoked paprika
  • teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wear disposable gloves and cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise, removing seeds and ribs.
  3. Mix cream cheese and cheddar cheese until combined, then fill each jalapeño half with the mixture.
  4. In a shallow dish, combine panko bread crumbs, garlic powder, salt, chili powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
  5. Roll the filled jalapeños in the bread crumb mixture and place them back on the baking sheet.
  6. Sprinkle any remaining bread crumbs over the jalapeños.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes until the peppers are tender and the bread crumbs are golden.
  8. Serve immediately.
