Ingredients

The jalapenos

  • 20 pieces jalapeño peppers

The filling

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese or mix
  • 4 tsp sweet + spicy umami blend
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tbsp chives, chopped

The topping

  • cup bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and prepare two baking trays with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the jalapeño peppers in half length-wise and remove the centers and seeds.
  3. Set the jalapenos spaced out with the cavities facing up on the baking trays.
  4. Prepare the filling by mixing softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chives, and spices in a bowl.
  5. Distribute the filling into the jalapeno cavities, about 1-2 tablespoons each.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the bread crumbs.
  7. Flip each jalapeño popper upside-down and press the top into the bread crumbs.
  8. Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden.
  9. Serve immediately with fresh chives.
