Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy, then add the sugars and beat until combined.
- Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, then fold in the mini M&Ms.
- Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll the chilled dough into balls and place them on the baking sheets, spaced apart.
- Bake for 11-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Press additional M&Ms on top while still warm, if desired.
