Ingredients

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup butter at room temperature
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup M&M candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream the butter until fluffy, then add the granulated and brown sugars and mix until smooth.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until just blended.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing on low speed until combined.
  6. Fold in the M&Ms by hand to avoid breaking them.
  7. Roll the dough into balls and place them on the baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes, then slam the baking sheets on the counter to remove air bubbles.
  9. Return to the oven for an additional 2 minutes, then cool on the baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack.
