Ingredients

The Cauliflower

  • 1 medium head cauliflower, chopped into florets (~4-6 cups)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons white sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon coconut sugar
  • teaspoon salt

The Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
  • 2.5 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • ½ tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • ¼ cup honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF and prepare a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Wash and dry the cauliflower, then cut it into bite-sized florets.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs to create an egg wash.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, sesame seeds, garlic powder, coconut sugar, and salt for the breading.
  5. Dip each cauliflower floret in the egg wash, ensuring it's fully coated.
  6. Coat each floret in the breadcrumb mixture and place them on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake the cauliflower for 15 minutes, then flip each piece and bake for another 10 minutes.
  8. While the cauliflower is baking, prepare the sauce by mixing the chili garlic sauce, soy sauce, orange juice, tomato paste, sriracha, and honey in a large bowl.
  9. Once the cauliflower is done, let it cool for 5 minutes, then toss it in the sauce until fully coated.
  10. Serve the coated cauliflower on top of your favorite grain, garnished with sesame seeds and red pepper flakes.
