Ingredients

The burgers

  • 1 lb raw 98% lean ground chicken breast
  • 6 tablespoons barbecue sauce
  • 1 ½ oz shredded 2% milk sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika

The assembly

  • 4 pieces hamburger buns or sandwich rolls
  • 4 leaves green leaf lettuce
  • 4-8 slices tomato
  • 4-8 slices red onion

Instructions

  1. Combine ground chicken, 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce, cheddar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Form the mixture into four equal patties and refrigerate for at least an hour if desired.
  3. Heat a nonstick grill pan or skillet over medium heat and lightly mist with cooking spray.
  4. Cook the patties for 5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 5 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Assemble each burger with lettuce, a patty, a tablespoon of barbecue sauce, tomato, and onion on a bun.
