Instructions
- Prepare the brown butter by heating it in the microwave or on the stove until it turns amber.
- Heat the milk until lukewarm and mix it with the melted brown butter.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 cups of flour, sugar, and salt.
- Combine the yeast and lukewarm milk mixture in a stand mixer, then add the flour mixture and egg, mixing until combined.
- Knead the dough for 5 minutes, then let it rest covered for 10 minutes.
- Make the filling by mixing the sugars and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread melted brown butter over it, and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
- Roll the dough tightly, cut into 12 equal pieces, and place in a greased baking dish to rise for 25 minutes.
- Bake the rolls at 350°F for 15-20 minutes until golden.
- Prepare the frosting by whisking melted brown butter and cream cheese, then add powdered sugar and milk as needed.
- Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls and serve.
