Ingredients

The cauliflower wings

  • 1 medium head cauliflower
  • ¾ cup flour
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ¾ cup unsweetened vegan milk
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

The sauce

  • cups BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. Remove florets from the cauliflower and cut into smaller pieces resembling wings.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, vegan milk, sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to make the batter.
  4. In a separate bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  5. Toss the cauliflower pieces in the batter until coated, then transfer to the breadcrumbs to coat completely.
  6. Place the coated cauliflower wings on the baking sheet and bake for 22 minutes.
  7. While baking, prepare the BBQ sauce by heating and whisking it together.
  8. Remove the wings from the oven, toss them in the BBQ sauce, and return to the baking sheet.
  9. Bake for an additional 5 minutes to allow the sauce to soak in.
  10. Garnish with scallions and serve immediately.
