Ingredients

Cauliflower Wings

  • 1 medium head cauliflower
  • ¾ cup flour
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ¾ cup vegan milk
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

Sauce

  • ½ cup vinegar based hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegan butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2-3 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. Remove florets from the cauliflower and chop them into smaller pieces.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, vegan milk, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to make the batter.
  4. In a separate bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  5. Toss the cauliflower in the batter mixture to coat, then transfer to the breadcrumbs to coat completely.
  6. Place the coated cauliflower on the baking sheet with space between each piece.
  7. Bake for 22 minutes.
  8. While baking, whisk the sauce ingredients together in a small pot and bring to a boil for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Remove the wings from the oven, toss them in the sauce, and return to the baking sheet.
  10. Bake for an additional 5 minutes, then serve immediately.
