Ingredients

The filling

  • 3 cups peeled gala apples, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1 tbsp flour or cornstarch
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • cup pure maple syrup
  • to taste spray cooking spray

The topping

  • ¾ cup dry quick-cooking oats
  • ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour or gluten-free flour mix
  • 3 tbsp melted whipped butter or dairy-free butter
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. Lightly spray a 9-inch square baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. Combine the filling ingredients in a bowl and pour into the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  4. In another bowl, mix the topping ingredients and sprinkle them over the apple and cranberry mixture.
  5. Bake uncovered for 55-60 minutes until browned and bubbly.
  6. Serve warm.
