Ingredients

The pork chops

  • 4 pieces pork chops (bone-in, thick center-cut)
  • 2 pounds pork loin chops

The seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

The sauce

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sliced onions (white onion)
  • ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
  • ¼ cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat a cast-iron skillet on medium heat while seasoning the pork chops.
  2. Season both sides of the pork chops with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Drizzle olive oil in the skillet to ensure it is fully coated.
  4. Add the pork chops to the skillet and cook each side for 4-5 minutes until they reach an internal temperature of at least 145°F.
  5. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
  6. Add butter to the skillet along with the sliced onions and cook until the onions are translucent.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and chicken broth, cooking until the sauce thickens.
  8. Return the pork chops to the skillet and serve.
