Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the onions into ¼-inch slices.
  2. Place the sliced onions in a bowl and season with sea salt, then let marinate for 60 minutes.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter and olive oil.
  4. Once the butter has melted, add the onions and any liquid from marinating.
  5. Cook the onions, stirring frequently, for about 20-25 minutes until caramelized and golden brown.
  6. Add the vegetable stock to deglaze the pan, stirring to incorporate the browned bits.
  7. Once the liquid is absorbed, remove the pan from heat and serve the onions.
