Cooking Salmon on a Cedar Plank

Ingredients

The salmon

  • 1 kg salmon fillet
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • a few sprigs fresh lemon thyme

The cedar planks

  • 2 pieces cedar planks

Instructions

  1. Soak the cedar planks in water for at least 2 hours.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium heat (about 350°F).
  3. Cut the salmon fillet into pieces of approximately 225 grams each, keeping the skin on.
  4. Season the salmon with salt and pepper on both sides.
  5. Place the soaked cedar planks on the grill and add the salmon skin side down.
  6. Add fresh lemon thyme on top of the salmon if desired.
  7. Close the grill lid and cook for 12-15 minutes, checking for doneness.
  8. Serve the salmon on the cedar planks or transfer to a serving plate.
