Instructions
- Mix the chili seasoning ingredients in a small bowl.
- Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat and add onions and bell pepper, cooking until softened.
- Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, then add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and bay leaf, bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and continue to simmer until thickened, adding water if necessary.
- Remove the bay leaf and season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Serve over hot dogs in buns, topped with cheese and onion.
