Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
- Slice the onion and coat with flour, egg mixture, and panko breadcrumbs before baking until golden brown.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 400°F (204°C).
- Blanch the green beans in boiling salted water for 5 minutes, then transfer to ice water.
- In a skillet, melt butter and cook mushrooms with salt and pepper until moisture is released.
- Add garlic, flour, broth, and half-and-half, cooking until thickened.
- Combine the green beans and some fried onions with the sauce, then transfer to a baking dish.
- Top with remaining onions and bake until bubbly, about 15 minutes.
