Green Bean Casserole

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Cook green beans in boiling water until just tender, about 5-6 minutes.
- Drain the green beans and transfer them to ice water, then drain again.
- Pour the beans into a baking dish.
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté mushrooms with salt until softened, then add garlic.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms, toss to coat, and cook briefly.
- Stir in chicken broth and half and half, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Simmer the mixture to thicken, stirring frequently, then stir in parmesan cheese.
- Pour the sauce over the green beans and toss to coat.
- Sprinkle fried onions on top, cover with foil, and bake for 10 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes, then serve warm.
