Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Melt butter in a large sauté pan over medium heat, then add mushrooms and garlic and cook for a few minutes.
- Stir in the flour and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, then add salt and pepper.
- Whisk in milk and soy sauce, scraping the bottom of the pan, and bring to a light boil until thickened.
- Mix the sauce with the steamed green beans in a casserole dish and bake until bubbly, about 15 minutes.
- For the onion topping, dredge onion slices in flour and sauté in melted butter until golden brown.
- Top the casserole with the fried onions before serving.
