Homemade Chocolate Truffles

The truffle mixture

Toppings

melted or tempered chocolate
Instructions
- Place the chocolate in a heat-proof bowl and set aside.
- Heat the heavy cream until it simmers, then add it to the chocolate along with the butter, if using.
- Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes before stirring until the chocolate is completely melted.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours until set.
- Scoop the mixture into mounds and roll into balls, then coat in desired toppings.
