Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
- Pulse the rolled oats into a powder using a food processor.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flours, oat powder, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Cut in the chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the milk, vanilla extract, and maple syrup, then add to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Knead the dough briefly, adding flour if necessary to manage stickiness.
- Press the dough into the prepared baking pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Refrigerate for a few hours, then cut into bars.
- Top each bar with chocolate pieces and a marshmallow, then broil for about 3 minutes until the marshmallows are golden brown.
