Ingredients

Blackened Seasoning

  • 2 tsp Sea salt
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp Onion powder
  • ½ tsp Garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Crushed red pepper flakes
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper
  • ¼ tsp Cayenne pepper
  • tsp Dried thyme
  • tsp Dried oregano

Chicken

  • 2 8-oz Boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (191°C).
  2. Mix the spices to create the blackened seasoning.
  3. Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with the blackened seasoning.
  4. Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat, add olive oil, and heat until shimmering.
  5. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 2 minutes per side until browned.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the oven and cook for 7-10 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  7. Remove the chicken from the skillet to prevent overcooking, tent with foil, and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
