Ingredients

The salmon

  • 4 fillets salmon, skin on

The spice mix

  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

For cooking

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter

To garnish

  • ¼ cup parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Mix the ground cumin, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme in a bowl.
  2. Generously sprinkle the spice mix over the salmon fillets and press to adhere.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, spice side down, and sear for 3 minutes.
  5. Flip the salmon and cook for another 3 minutes.
  6. Remove the salmon from the pan, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
