Ingredients

The seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

The salmon

  • 1 pound salmon cut into 4 fillets
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • ½ of one lemon sliced

Instructions

  1. Combine all spices in a small bowl and mix well.
  2. Coat the salmon fillets with the spice mixture, pressing it into the flesh.
  3. Melt butter in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, spice-side down, and cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
  5. Flip the fillets, squeeze lemon juice over them, and cook skin-side down for 2 to 3 minutes depending on thickness.
