Ingredients

The apples

  • 4 pounds apples

The flavorings

  • 2 strips lemon peel
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

The liquid

  • ½ cup water or apple cider

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in the Instant Pot and stir.
  2. Secure the lid with the valve in the sealing position.
  3. Set to Manual High Pressure for 5 minutes.
  4. After the cook time, naturally release all pressure.
  5. Carefully remove the lid and stir the applesauce.
  6. Use a potato masher to mash the apples to your desired consistency.
  7. Serve warm or let cool and refrigerate until chilled.
