Ingredients

The apples

  • 3 pounds apples

The cooking liquid and spices

  • cup water
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel the apples and slice off the sides to remove the core and seeds.
  2. Cut the apples into 1-inch chunks or ½-inch pieces.
  3. Add the cut apples, water, and cinnamon to the Instant Pot.
  4. Secure the lid and set the steam release valve to 'Sealing.'
  5. Cook at high pressure for 10 minutes using the Manual or Pressure Cook button.
  6. Allow the pressure to naturally release for 10 minutes, then switch to 'Venting.'
  7. Once safe, remove the lid and mash the apples to your desired consistency.
  8. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for up to 6 months.
