Garlic Tostones

minced garlic

Instructions
- Peel the plantains and cut them into 1-inch thick disks.
- Mix the minced garlic with water and set aside.
- Heat oil in a large skillet until shiny and hot.
- Fry the plantain disks for 3-5 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
- Remove the plantains and place them on a paper towel to drain.
- Smash the fried plantains to make them half as thick and soak in garlic water for about a minute.
- Remove, dry, and return to the frying pan.
- Fry again for another 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels, sprinkle with sea salt, and serve with rice and beans.
