Instructions
- Peel the plantains and cut them into 1-inch thick pieces.
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan.
- Fry the plantains in batches until light golden brown, then remove and drain on paper towels.
- Smash each piece with a wooden spoon to flatten them.
- Return the smashed plantains to the oil and fry for an additional 4-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain excess oil on paper towels, sprinkle with sea salt, and serve immediately with dipping sauce.
