Ingredients

The plantains

  • 2 pieces green plantains

The frying oil

  • 3 tbsp coconut oil

The seasoning

  • ΒΌ tsp Himalayan salt

Instructions

  1. Ensure plantains are at room temperature before peeling.
  2. Cut off both ends of the plantains and discard the tips.
  3. Slit the peel along the length of the fruit in 3 places without cutting into the flesh.
  4. Remove the peel by gently running your fingers between the flesh and peel.
  5. Cut the peeled plantains into 10 to 12 thick slices.
  6. Heat coconut oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  7. Fry the plantain slices for about 2 minutes until golden brown, then flip and fry the other side.
  8. Remove the plantains and flatten them with a flat object.
  9. Return the flattened plantains to the skillet and fry for another minute on each side.
  10. Remove from skillet, sprinkle with salt, and serve immediately.
