Instructions
- Whisk together barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, and water in a bowl.
- Pat chicken breasts dry and season with salt and pepper.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat and lightly brown the chicken.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 5 minutes.
- Flip the chicken, cover again, and continue cooking until fully cooked.
- Transfer chicken to a cutting board and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Shred the chicken and return it to the sauce, stirring to coat.
