Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lb ground breakfast sausage of choice
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp coarse ground pepper
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 ½ tsp ground fennel seeds, lightly crushed
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, boil fresh cranberries in enough water to cover them for about 5 minutes until slightly soft, then drain.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground sausage, ground turkey, and all spices, mixing until well incorporated, then gently fold in the cranberries.
  3. Heat a medium skillet over medium heat and form patties from the mixture, about ¼ cup each.
  4. Cook the patties in the skillet for 7-10 minutes on each side until fully cooked through.
  5. Serve hot with maple syrup if desired.
