Ingredients

  • ½ cup salted butter
  • 1 cup semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • cup natural unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter and chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth.
  2. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then add brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla, mixing well.
  3. Stir in flour, cocoa, salt, and baking soda until just combined, then fold in additional chocolate chips.
  4. Chill the dough for 1-2 hours until firm enough to scoop.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the sheets, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 9-11 minutes until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
