Ingredients

The Waffles

  • 1 cup Oat Flour or Gluten-Free Flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 tbsp creamed honey
  • 2 flax eggs or ½ cup apple sauce
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • 1 ½ cup almond milk

The Apples

  • 1 tbsp vegan butter or regular butter of choice
  • ¼ cup creamed honey
  • 2 medium-sized apples, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • dash sea salt

Instructions

  1. Cook the apple ingredients in a saucepan on low heat for 15 minutes, stirring often.
  2. Preheat your waffle maker.
  3. Blend all waffle ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth.
  4. Grease the preheated waffle maker and pour in the batter according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  5. Cook until no steam is escaping from the waffle iron, then repeat with remaining batter.
  6. Serve the waffles with a generous portion of the cooked apples.
