Grilled Tuna Steak

Ingredients

The tuna steaks

  • 4 8-oz Tuna steaks (1 inch thick)

The marinade

  • ¼ cup Coconut aminos (or low-sodium soy sauce)
  • 2 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp Fresh ginger (grated)
  • 2 tbsp Honey (preferably sugar-free)
  • ½ tsp Sea salt
  • ½ tsp Black pepper
  • ½ tsp Red pepper flakes (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the marinade ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Place the tuna steaks in a plastic bag and pour the marinade over them, sealing the bag and turning to coat. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Clean the grill grates with an oiled paper towel and preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Grill the tuna steaks for 2-3 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches about 125°F.
  5. Transfer the fish to a plate and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
