Ingredients

  • 5 pounds sweet red apples
  • ¾ cup unsweetened apple juice or apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 lemon juiced

Instructions

  1. Wash, core, and slice the apples.
  2. Combine the sliced apples in the Instant Pot.
  3. Add the apple juice, spices, vanilla, and lemon juice, and stir to combine.
  4. Lock the lid and set the cook time to 10 minutes at high pressure.
  5. After cooking, let the pressure release naturally for about 10 minutes, then use quick release for any remaining pressure.
  6. Blend the cooked apple mixture until smooth using an immersion blender or food processor.
  7. Press the Sauté button on the Instant Pot and set the time to 15 minutes to thicken the mixture.
  8. Once thickened, transfer the apple butter to a container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
