Ingredients

The oats

  • 1 cup steel cut oats

The cooking ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups almond milk
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional toppings

  • ½ cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add steel cut oats and cook until slightly toasted and golden.
  3. Pour in almond milk and bring to a boil.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in salt, vanilla, and maple syrup.
  5. If desired, add yogurt or peanut butter.
  6. Transfer to jars or containers, cover, and refrigerate overnight.
