Cinnamon Sugar Mini Donuts

Ingredients

The batter

  • 1 ¼ cups cake flour, sifted
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ¼ tsp baking powder
  • tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 ½ tbsp butter, melted

For dipping

  • 6 tbsp butter, melted
  • ½ cup cinnamon sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Add the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Spray the mini donut pan with nonstick cooking spray and fill each donut cup about halfway.
  5. Bake for 4–6 minutes, or until the tops spring back when touched.
  6. Let the donuts cool in the pan for 4–5 minutes before removing.
  7. Dip each donut in melted butter, then roll in cinnamon sugar.
  8. Allow the donuts to cool and firm up for about 15-30 minutes before serving.
