Ingredients

The shrimp

  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil (olive oil recommended)
  • ¼ cup buttermilk (only for breaded shrimp)
  • ¼-½ cup fish fry breading (only for breaded shrimp)

The lemon butter glaze

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1½-2 teaspoons lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Prepare the lemon butter glaze by combining butter, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a saucepan over medium-high heat until the zest dissolves.
  2. For breaded shrimp, ensure shrimp are dry, coat with buttermilk, then dredge in a mixture of fish fry breading, paprika, lemon pepper, and salt.
  3. Air fry the breaded shrimp at 400°F for 5 minutes, flip, and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until crisp.
  4. Alternatively, bake the breaded shrimp on parchment paper at 400°F for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  5. For non-breaded shrimp, season shrimp with lemon pepper, paprika, and salt.
  6. Pan sear the seasoned shrimp in oil over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  7. You can also air fry the seasoned shrimp at 400°F for 7-10 minutes or bake at 400°F for 4-6 minutes until cooked through.
  8. Top the cooked shrimp with the lemon butter glaze before serving.
