Ingredients

The filling

  • 6 units apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cups fresh apple cider
  • cup maple syrup
  • 2 sticks cinnamon

The topping

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup pecans, roughly chopped
  • ½ cup almond flour
  • ¼ cup apple cider mixture
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp allspice
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Wash, peel, and slice the apples, then place them in a large bowl.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine apple cider, maple syrup, and cinnamon sticks, and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until reduced, then remove the cinnamon sticks.
  5. Pour the apple cider mixture over the sliced apples, reserving ¼ cup of the liquid.
  6. In another bowl, mix rolled oats, chopped pecans, almond flour, reserved apple cider mixture, vanilla, cinnamon, allspice, and salt.
  7. Pour the apple mixture into a greased 8x8 baking dish and sprinkle the topping over it.
  8. Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown and apples are tender.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!
