Boozy Christmas Spiced Eggnog

Ingredients

The base

  • ¼ cup soaked cashews
  • 1⅓ cups nondairy milk or cream
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

The spices

  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon all spice
  • ground to taste nutmeg or cinnamon for garnish

The alcohol

  • cup rum or brandy or bourbon

Instructions

  1. Blend all the ingredients for about 3 minutes until smooth.
  2. Heat the blended mixture in a saucepan over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes without boiling.
  3. Turn off the heat and stir in the alcohol, allowing it to warm through for about 1 minute.
  4. Serve warm in small glasses, garnished with freshly grated nutmeg or cinnamon.
