Ingredients

The salmon

  • 1 lb salmon fillet
  • to taste none salt
  • to taste none ground black pepper
  • as needed none lemon wedges

The honey garlic butter sauce

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 3 dashes cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (207°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a small bowl in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds.
  3. Add the honey, garlic, salt, cayenne pepper (if using), and chopped parsley to the melted butter.
  4. Lay out two large sheets of aluminum foil and place the salmon on top.
  5. Season both sides of the salmon with salt and ground black pepper.
  6. Spread half of the honey garlic butter mixture evenly over the salmon.
  7. Wrap the foil tightly around the salmon to prevent leakage.
  8. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
  9. Unwrap the foil and spoon out any excess water that has seeped from the salmon.
  10. Drizzle the remaining honey garlic butter over the salmon and squeeze fresh lemon juice on top before serving.
