Ingredients

The vegetables

  • 2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 3 units green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

The sauce

  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup salted butter

Instructions

  1. Combine the chopped green onions, minced garlic, and balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan and cook on medium heat, stirring frequently, for 5-7 minutes until reduced to a thick syrup.
  2. Remove the mixture from heat and set aside.
  3. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  4. While waiting for the water to boil, combine the balsamic mixture with the butter and set aside.
  5. Once the water is boiling, add the green beans and cook for 3-5 minutes until they float and turn bright green.
  6. Drain the green beans and toss them with the balsamic butter before serving immediately.
