Cognac Bacon Cheddar Burger

Ingredients

  • 1 lb 80/20 ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon minced garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon finely chopped shallots
  • cup cognac
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 6–8 strips thick cut bacon
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with all ingredients except the bacon and cheese.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4-6 equal portions and form patties.
  3. Preheat the grill and place the bacon on the top rack.
  4. Brush the grill area for the burgers with vegetable oil.
  5. Grill the burgers to the desired temperature.
  6. Once the bacon is done, add pieces to each patty and sprinkle with cheese.
  7. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.
