Ingredients

The burgers

  • 8 slices bacon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • 4 slices American cheese

For serving

  • to taste mayonnaise
  • to taste lettuce leaves
  • to taste tomato slices
  • to taste onions
  • to taste dill pickle chips

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a cold skillet over medium heat until crispy, then drain on paper towels.
  2. Toast the cut sides of the hamburger buns in the same skillet with butter until golden brown.
  3. Form ground beef into 4 balls, season with salt and pepper, and cook in the skillet, pressing down to flatten.
  4. Flip the patties, season again, and top with cheese, cooking until melted.
  5. Spread mayonnaise on the toasted buns, add the beef patties, and top with bacon and desired toppings.
