Caramelized Onion Bacon Burger

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Beef hamburger patties
  • 4 pieces Brioche buns
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 6-8 slices Bacon
  • ½ head Lettuce
  • 2 pieces Tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Butter or olive oil
  • 1 piece Red onion

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with tin foil.
  2. Arrange the bacon strips on the baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes until crispy.
  3. While the bacon is baking, slice the red onion thinly and heat butter or olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Add the onions to the pan and stir until they soften, then reduce heat to low and cook for about 40 minutes, adding water if they dry out.
  5. Grease a grill pan or cast-iron skillet with oil and heat it.
  6. Cook the beef patties on the grill until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F, flipping them as needed.
  7. Prepare the toppings by toasting the buns and chopping the lettuce, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese.
  8. Assemble the burgers in this order: bottom bun, lettuce, tomato, burger patty, bacon, cheddar cheese, more lettuce, caramelized onions, and top bun.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
