Instructions
- Gather and prepare your ingredients by slicing the cabbage and onion.
- Melt the duck fat in a large cast iron skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté the onions for about 5 minutes until softened.
- Add the cabbage, sherry vinegar, bay leaf, salt, pepper, and water to the skillet.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover and reduce the heat to simmer for 20 minutes.
- Peel and grate the apple, then add it to the cabbage mixture.
- Mix in the apple, cover, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.
